Thank You To All Who Participated In This Years Contest!

Returning for 2024, The Sunset Project presents the third annual FOCUS45 Amateur Photography Contest!

Competition Details

Beginning Tuesday, October 1, at 10 AM EST and ending November 1, at Midnight EST, The Sunset Project will host an online portal where contestants will submit a photo that they believe best represents this year's theme.

The 2024 FOCUS45 Amateur Photography Contest Theme is “Through the Lens: Telling Northeast Michigan’s Story, ” taking inspiration from the deep beauty, history, and stories that make up the region.

After all eligible submissions have been collected, The Sunset Project will host a 72-hour-only online voting period where the general public will be allowed to cast their votes for their favorite submissions. This Public Voting Period will begin on Friday, November 1 at 10 AM EST and will conclude on Monday, November 4 at 10 AM EST.

The seven submissions with the most public votes, in combination with scores from a panel of judges, will be selected to participate in a private awards gala at Art in the Loft in late November.

At the gala, all seven selected submissions will be framed and displayed for attendees to view and enjoy. The Sunset Project will also be awarding prize placements to submissions, which include over $2,500 worth of professional camera gear, B&H Photography gift cards, and more!
